26 color lithographs after J.B. de Pian, finished by hand, by Leopold Müller, each tipped to mounts and matted (some imprints slightly shaved, most lower imprints cropped, some adhesion abrasion from old matting, some minor marginal soiling). In a blue board folding case. Provenance: acquired from Ars Libri, 1986.
Each plate in this rare series has a large letter of the alphabet incorporated as part of the internal decoration or architectural structure of various buildings. They range from traditional domestic architecture to exotic temples and palaces. Only one other copy has sold at auction in the last 35 years according to American Book Prices Current. A facsimile was published in Vienna in 1973.
