A group of six Islamic 'Seljuq' period gold and hardstone rings
Comprising: one with truncated bezel set with an oval black onyx intaglio engraved in Kufic scrip, Ahmad Musa (Moses) the gold four claw mount with strapwork style decoration; another with box shaped bevelled bezel set with a rectangular cornelian intaglio engraved in Kufic script Yusef Ibn al Hassen, the mount with granulated beadwork decoration with articulated rings on each side and stud shoulders and granulated hoop, possibly Syrian; another with oval closed-set rock crystal the reverse engraved in Kufic script, in crimped bezel and engraved with repeated scroll and zig zag patterns to the shoulders; another with oval cornelian intaglio engraved with a trefoil among stylised palm fronds, in four claw mount, the sides decorated with zoomorphic motifs to a plain hoop; another with rectangular cornelian engraved in Kufic script the triangular shoulders each engraved with a medallion depicting a bird; the last set with a domed banded agate with raised and engraved bezel and pierced scrolling shoulders, 13th century (6)
