    Modelled standing on a rockwork base, his right arm bent to hold his left elbow, his hand clutching the hem of his robe tied at the waist, leaving his upper body bare, the shoulder length hair parted in the middle, downcast expression, small chips to extremities

    It has generally been accepted that this figure represents the figure of Adam. It forms a pair with the figure of Eve which is slightly taller. The inventory of Augustus the Strong records six figures of Eve before 1721 confirming the dating of this piece to the Kangxi period.
