    A blue and white stemcup and a blue and white soft-paste box
    The stemcup following the shape of an early Tibetan buddhist butter lamp, painted in early Ming style with lanca characters above lotus flowers amongst scrolling stems above a band of radiating lappets, the stem suspending beaded jewels, the interior with a large flower-head, Qianlong six characher mark in a single line along the inner base, 10.8 cm. high; and a soft-paste circular box decorated with a coiling dragon, Kangxi six character mark, crackled glaze, minor chip, 8.5 cm. diam.     For similar examples of the stemcup see the National Palace Museum, Taiwan, included in the Catalog of the Special Exhibition of K'ang-Hsi, Yung-Cheng and Ch'ien'Lung Porcelain Ware from the Ch'ing Dynasty in the National Palace Museum, Taipei 1986, Pl. 69. Another is in the Groninger Museum, illustrated by C.J.A. Jörg in Oosterse keramiek uit Groninger kollekties, Groningen, 1982, no. 100. A similar cup was sold in these salerooms on 23 and 24 May 2006, lot 521.
