A Composite English Pikeman's Armour
Circa 1625-50
Of russet steel, comprising characteristic two-piece wide-brimmed pot with low comb and plume-holder at the rear, cuirass for a harquebusier, of breast-plate with low medial ridge, two studs for the shoulder-straps, flanged neck, and one-piece riveted skirt, struck below the neck with an indistinct maker's mark, the helmeted 'A' of the London Armourers' Company, and the Commonwealth mark, and back-plate shaped to the back and the base of the neck and struck below the neck with an indistinct maker's mark, and large hinged pikeman's tassets embossed with simulated lames overlapping at the centre and secured by pivot-hook and pin catches, the main borders with plain turns throughout, the iron rivets with domed heads: on a wooden stand

Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate from the Monday following the sale and every week-day from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE TO PURCHASERS WHO COLLECT THEIR LOTS WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE SALE.
On the Friday one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £17.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.00 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
