    The 'accent grave' on the U, the dot on the I and the polished eye of the horse, together with the symmetrical ornament of the bracket are some of the indicators of Jacob Sang's hand.
    The rearing horse was used as a general symbol of freedom, without specific political meaning, from 1700 onwards.
