    KANGXI (1662-1722)
    Each piece painted in a vibrant cobalt blue with lappets and panels enclosed by double bands, the larger panels depicting on one side a basket of flowers and on the other blossoming and fruiting branches, the lappets at the shoulder and around the foot enclosing lotus and precious emblems, comprising:

    Three slender oviform vases, 8¼ in. (21 cm.) and 7 5/8 in. (19.5 cm.) high, pierced wood covers
    Two beaker vases, 8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.) high
    Two cylindrical vases, 7¼ in. (17.5 cm.) high (7)

    A almost identical garniture of three oviform vases and covers and two cylindrical jars and covers, but without the beaker vases, originally in the Richard Bennett and Orrock Collection, is now in the Lady Lever Art Gallery, Port Sunlight, illustrated by R. L. Hobson, Chinese Porcelain & Wedgwood Pottery, London, 1928, no. 166.
