    The blade engraved with an inscription and a central coat-of-arms flanked by a coat-of-arms on the left and a depiction of angel with sword and anvil on the right, the heel of the handle engraved with a coat-of-arms, the ivory handle with an openwork terminal set with a purple stone, further engraved with an initial within the Garter motto below a Royal duke's coronet, marked on blade and terminal, in fitted case
    13¼ in. (33.5 cm.)
    The initial is for The Prince George, Duke of Kent (1902-1942).

    The first arms are those of Falkirk Town Council. The second arms are those of Sterling County Council

    The inscription reads 'Presented to His Royal Highness The Prince George K.G., G.C.V.O. on the Occasion of the Formal Opening of the new Falkirk & Districk Infirmary 18th JANUARY 1932. WM. GIBSON O.B.E. ARCHITECT'

    The Falkirk Infirmry had been erected at a cost of £100,000. After unveiling a memorial stone the Prince visited the Carron Ironworks which has been in production since 1760.
