    A similar bottle painted with a similar descending bird is illustrated by R. Mowry, Hare's Fur, Tortoiseshell and Partridge Feathers: Chinese Brown and Black-Glazed Ceramics, 400-1400, Harvard University Art Museums, 1995, pp. 159-60, no. 52, where it is dated Jin dynasty. The author distinguishes between the Jin period bottles which have smaller bodies and longer necks and the Yuan ones which have larger, fuller bodies and shorter necks.
