    NORTH EAST IRAN, 12TH CENTURY
    Of circular form with deeply cusped cavetto and flat everted rim, the centre with a repoussé rosette with alternate copper and silver petals within a band of silver-inlaid benedictory inscription divided by crescent drop-shaped panels, the rim with a band of elegant silver inlaid benedictory inscription, minimal damage and loss of inlay

    The inscriptions read:
    Round the rim in kufic: bi'l-yumn wa al-baraka wa al-dawla wa al-salama wa al-ni'ma wa al-faragha wa al-daw[la] wa al-nizama wa al-baraka wa al-dawla wa al-ta'id wa . , al-tamma wa al-'afiya wa wa al-ihsan wa wa al-qadira wa al-nizama wa al-kirama wa al-baqa (With Good-fortune and Blessing and Wealth and Well-being and (God's) Grace and Inner-calm and Wealth and Order and Blessing and Wealth and (God's) Support and and Plenitude and Health and . and Charity and Power and Order and Generosity and Long-life'

    In the centre: al-'izz wa al-iqbal , wa al-daw[la] wa al-sala , ma wa al-sa'ada , wa al-baqa li-sahibihi (Glory and Prosperity and Wealth and Well-being and Happiness and Long-life to its owner).
