    A lacquered-brass Gould-type botanist's microscope
    by Watkins & Hill, early 19th century
    the tapering barrel threading into a limb atop the pillar with rack-and-pinion adjusted stage and concave mirror, arranged to screw into a brass ferrule on the lid of the case, with stage forceps and three six-celled ivory slides, in fitted case with trade label WATKINS & HILL, Opticians, 5, Charing Cross, LONDON.
