    A LARGE BRONZE FIGURE OF A CAPARISONED ELEPHANT
    17TH/18TH CENTURY
    Shown with head turned to the side, the massive body arrayed in rich trappings originally inset with glass beads or stones, the back draped with a fringed blanket from which rises a baluster vase cast with beaded garlands and a pair of monster-mask handles below lotus sprays on the neck, the elephant standing atop an integral plinth with four ruyi-form feet joined by a plain stretcher
