A LARGE CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN MONOGRAMMED DINNER SERVICE FOR THE PORTUGUESE MARKET
Late Qianlong/Jiaqing (circa 1780-1820)
Enamelled in blue and gilt with a border pattern and a central oval enclosing the monogram 'JES' in cursive script, comprising:
a large oval tureen, cover and dish, 12½ in. (32 cm.) wide,
four circular hot-water plates, 11 in. (28 cm.) diam.,
six circular chestnut baskets and stands, the largest 10¼ in. (26 cm) wide,
three vegetable tureens, covers and liners, 12¼ in. (31 cm.) wide,
two vegetable tureens and covers, 11¼ in. (28.5 cm.) wide,
four oval salts, 4 in. (10 cm.) wide,
two tazza fruit bowls, 10 in. (25.5 cm.) diam.,
eleven custard cups and ten covers, 3½ in. (9 cm.) high,
three cylindrical coffee cups, 2¾ in. (7 cm.) high,
two milk jugs, 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) wide,
five large oval dishes, the largest 14½ in. (37 cm.) wide,
three rectangular dishes, 13 in. (33 cm.) wide,
one large oval fish-plate, liner and stand, 15¾ in. (40 cm.) wide,
twelve soup bowls, 9¾ in. (24.5 cm.) diam.,
twenty-one circular side-plates, 7½ in. (19.5 cm.) diam.,
thirty-one circular plates, 9¾ in. (24.5 cm.) diam.,
two sauce tureens and one stand, 7½ in. (19 cm.) wide,
two shallow fruit bowls, 8 in. (20 cm.) diam.,
four small shallow bowls, 5¾ in. (14.5 cm.) diam.,
