    A LARGE GREENISH-WHITE JADE CARVING OF TWO PHOENIXES
    18TH/19TH CENTURY
    Well carved as two phoenixes standing beside a gnarled viburnum trunk on one side of the narrow strip of rockwork that forms the base, with a large viburnum flower resting on the back of the smaller bird, the larger bird with head lowered as it grasps a blossoming stem in its beak, both with long, swooping tails emerging from under their wings which are finely incised with overlapping rows of feathers, the smoothly polished stone with some pale brown inclusions
    9 3/8 in. (23.8 cm.) long, wood stand
