A mid 18th-Century Continental mahogany domestic medicine chest with ornamental brass strap-work and inlay,
of trunk style with domed lid and double doors to the front, the interior with marquetry decoration throughout (some damage) and fenestrations to reveal contents of bottles, the doors with two drawers surmounted by fitted area housing four bottles with facet-cut shoulders, silver mounts and screw-on caps with finials (one bottle damaged, one missing but replaced by two-piece silver funnel), the central upper section partitioned to house a further five similiar bottles (three larger in size) and two silver canisters, with two drawers below and a front work-surface with further drawer on a plinth base.,the case with a brass swan-neck handle, key-hole and key -- 18 x 14 x 15cm.
