    A MUGHAL PALE CELADON JADE LOBED BOWL
    17TH/18TH CENTURY

    The bowl with thin fluted walls slightly indented to form the four petals of a fully-opened flower, carved with two tapering acanthus leaves curled at the tips to form the handles emerging from a flattened circular base in the form of a stylised chrysanthemum flowerhead, the jade of a well-polished greyish-green with darker opaque inclusions; together with an archaistic celadon jade jue, 19th century, carved with closely interlocking archaistic designs, supported on three lobes carved in relief with mythical masks, the upper section with stylised confronting dragons, the mouth rim flanked on either side with capped columns and a chilong carved in high relief spanning the handle and the rim, the stone of a mottled greyish-green colour
