    A PAIR OF ARCHAISTIC GILT-SPLASHED WINE VESSELS, JIA
    QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
    Each vessel is raised on three blade supports and the body crisply cast with two taotie masks on a leiwen ground divided by flanges set directly below each of the capped posts rising from the rim. The neck is further embellished with detached, ascending blades each enclosing a trigram, and attached with a curved handle emerging from the mouth of a monster mask to one side. The underside is inscribed with a five character inscription, reading Boshen zuo booyi, 'This precious vessel made by Boshen'.
