    A PAIR OF FRENCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED SEVRES STYLE COBALT-BLUE GROUND VASES
    LATE 19TH CENTURY
    Each of baluster form, the fluted neck surmouted by a an acanthus patera frieze and gadrooned rim, flanked to each side by a scrolled acanthus handle with female herm, the bulbous body finely painted to the front with a musical nymph and Cupid, and to the back with a wooded river landscape, on a fluted gilt spreading socle, above a laurel garland and square base mounted to each side with alternate cameo portrait of Louis XVI or Marie Antoinette and cornered with out-scroll feet
