    Each with an ovoid body set on a pierced foot with grotesque masks, repeated to the neck and held together by four herm shaped bands, the flaring rim issuing the scroll handles, each surmounted by a cherub

    A related pair of ormolu-mounted agate vases from the Marquess of Cholmondely, Houghton Hall was sold Christie's King Street 8 December, 1994. A further related pair of blue glass vases is in the James A. de Rothchild collection at Waddesdon Manor.
