with 5½in. main lenses with detachable caps, tapering grey tubes, calibrated adjusting eyepieces and Oriental maker's plate, contained within original wooden storage box with some accessories, detached card with [?]adjustment records and another in lid and an note on 'R.N. Message' paper reading From Lieut. R. Parkinson, R.N., for Osprey Museum, Pair of Japanese A/S lookout binoculars, surrendered Japanese sub-chaser at Penang 18/9/45, the box with iron handles, stencilled on top FRAGILE THE CAPTAIN H.M.S OSPREY PORTLAND ENGLAND -- 8½ x 29½in.
