    MARK OF JOHN FIGG, LONDON, 1838/1839
    Each of vase form, depicting Neptune and Bacchus, on square foot with wave, leaf and beaded base beneath a leafy calyx, the lower body gadrooned and applied with masks, one spout and handle representing water, with a triton with arms clasped around the neck and holding onto a dolphin with shell border, the waist applied with figures of Venus, a merman and musical cherubs; the other ewer representing wine, with a satyr clasping a goat's head above a fruit border, the waist depicting bacchanalian revelers on one side, the reverse of each with figures surrounding an engraved cartouche with inscription, each marked under spout, maker's mark on base of one
