The fine, deep carving of this table screen is similar in style to that found on other table screens of Qianlong date, such as the rectangular screen reputed to be from the Summer Palace, Beijing, in the collection of Mr. R. Bruce, London, illustrated by L. Ashton and B. Gray, Chinese Art, London, 1953, p. 342, pl. 136.

Compare, also, the carving on another Qianlong period rectangular spinach-green jade screen of closely related size (24 cm.), sold in these rooms, 30 March 2005, lot 139. Other Qianlong period spinach-green jade screens exhibiting similar carving style have been sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 27 October 2003, lot 846, and an imperially inscribed example from the collection of Alan & Simone Hartman, 28 November 2006, lot 1365.
