    Each painted with lappet-shaped panels of mythical beasts alternating with vases issuing gilt foliage, on a seeded green-ground, within gilt rims
    The circular dishes 7 5/8 in. (19.3 cm.) wide and the lozenge shaped example 10 3/8 in. (26.3 cm.) wide (3)

    The origin of the 'Dragon In Compartment' pattern is to be found in Chinese famille verte pieces of the Kangxi period. It was first used by Worcester in 1768 and its popularity continued into the early 19th century.
