    The scabbard slide has beveled edges and is well-carved in low relief with an hexagonal motif. The translucent greyish-beige stone has feathery russet markings.

    A similar sword slide of comparable size (9.8 cm.), also carved with an hexagonal 'rush' or 'matting' pattern and dated Western Han, is illustrated by Bo Zhongmo in Guyu Jingying, Taiwan, p. 165, pl. 83 (bottom).
