Each painted in hues of sepia and brown with simulated cameos of Roman Emperors and figureheads above titles in script, the coffee-pot with Romulus and Numa, the bowl with Nerva and Trajan, reserved on brown-ground oval medallions, within richly-gilt and tooled ribbon-tied laurel cartouches, the matt-gilt ground burnished with scrolling foliage
