    A PURPLE-GROUND FAMILLE ROSE LEYS JAR, ZHADOU
    GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908)

    The compressed globular body rising from a low foot to a flared mouth, decorated in the famille rose palette with a bird in flight amidst tree peonies and hydrangea sprays, inscribed in iron-red below the rim Dayazhai, and with Tian Di Yi Jia Chun sealmark, all reserved on violet ground, with gilt borders encircling the mouth rim and above the ring foot, the interior applied evenly with a light turquoise enamel, the base bearing an iron-red Yong Qing Chang Chun mark
    3 11/16 in. ( 9.4 cm.) diam.
