A similar teabowl and saucer was in the Mottahedeh Collection, illustrated by Howard and Ayers, op. cit, vol. I, pp. 86-7, no. 44; and a saucer is illustrated by E. Gordon, Collecting Chinese Export Porcelain, London, 1978, p. 57, fig. 43. The large birds perched on over-sized flowering plants are similar to those depicted in the service known as 'Cuckoo in the House', which was also made in the Kangxi period.
