    A RARE CINNABAR TIXI LACQUER OVAL TRAY
    SONG-YUAN DYNASTY (960-1368)

    Boldly carved on the interior of the oval tray through a thick layer of cinnabar lacquer with two pairs of confronted spectacle-shaped ruyi scrolls, surrounded by a further eight scrolls under the rounded mouth rim, the exterior with a band of stylised scrolls, the underside base with black lacquer
