    Of oval bombé form, decorated with alternating panels of grisaille-haired putti either standing in blue loincloths or cavorting in the nude below an iron-red and gilt coronet, some of these nude putti with thoughtfully placed rose garlands, flanked by iron-red and salmon upright shell-handles

    A covered jug with this uncommon decoration is illustrated by Hervouët and Bruneau, op. cit., p. 321, pl. 13.102 where it is cited as circa 1745, but the forms of other items in this service appear to be later in date.
