Dr Andre Henkemans writes on his website that '1 1/2 pint is a very unusual capacity for a flagon. So unusual, that it is, to my knowledge, the only Channel Islands, lidded, measure of this capacity. The capacity is marked on the body and the lid. This size is confusing indeed, as the dimensions on first sight hardly differ from a quart. It could be described as a "slim quart". The height to the lip is 172mm and the heights of quarts vary between 174mm and 184mm. It is interesting that this capacity must have been officially accepted as the flagon has the official verification seal'
