    A RARE PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE HANDLE
    SHANG DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200 BC
    Of flattened, rounded rectangular form, carved on each side with three pairs of cicada wings which continue onto the narrow sides and are separated by linear bands, the slightly recessed plain section at one end with a raised border, drilled from each end with a central channel, the semi-translucent stone of even tone with satiny polish, with traces of cinnabar
    4 in. (10.2 cm.) long
