Flight Sergeant Bradley, together with the other six crew-members bailed out of his burning Halifax over Villiers-le-Thour, 35 kms. S.E.of Laon, after the aircraft had been hit by flak en route to Pilsen, 16 April 1943. The Captain was captured and four of the crew were killed, but Bradley and Flight Sergeant Allen evaded capture and made their way to Rheims via la Malmaison and Amifontaine. They arrived at Gibraltar, 21 June 1943. A copy of their Evaded Capture Statement is sold with the lot.
