    A RARE ROSE-PINK OVERLAY OPAQUE GLASS CUP STAND
    QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK INSCRIBED IN A CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
    The domed cup holder in the center of garnet color carved around the sides with ruyi lappets below the raised circular rim, the dish carved through the rose pink layer to the ivory ground with four lotus sprays separated by ruyi heads, below angular dragon scrolls and shou medallions on the everted rim between the inner rose pink border and the outer garnet border, the four characters of the reign mark evenly spaced in a circle on the base around the concave center
    7 in. (17.8 cm.) diam.

    A similar cup stand with the addition of a small yellow collar converting it to a candlestick holder was sold in our Hong Kong rooms 3 December 2008, lot 2517.
