    A RARE TURQUOISE-GROUND FAMILLE ROSE PEAR-SHAPED BOTTLE VASE
    DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
    The vase is supported on a slightly splayed foot and finely enamelled on the globular body with four large Indian lotus blooms, each with a stylised Shou medallion at the centre, below four pairs of bats in flight suspending beribboned Wan symbols from their mouths, all against a network of floral scrolls on a turquoise-ground. The tapering neck is flanked with a pair of ruyi-form handles in iron-red and gilt, the flared mouth rim similarly decorated with an iron red band further decorated with a band of classic scroll.
