    A RARE WHITE JADE CARVING
    QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

    The columnar-shaped boulder is slightly arched in form, finely carved in high relief and openwork on one side to depict pine trees growing in a rocky mountain landscape, detailed with a figure standing on an overhanging cliff looking down at his companion below holding a basket in one hand, the reverse side is slightly concave, carved with two tall bamboo trunks growing from one corner, against a background of wavy horizontal divisions, imitating the interior of a bamboo trunk, the sides with evenly spaced bamboo nodules, the stone with a slight celadon tone
