EASTERN EMPIRE, CIRCA 2ND CENTURY A.D.
The X-form frame with five rings along one horizontal, three along the other, through which the long iron seat rails are threaded, the frame with fine elaborate bronze inlays on the upper and side surface in geometric patterns including quatrefoil spirals, wave, X's, feather-pattern, key, and chevron; with modern leather straps attached to the seat rails, replacing the lost originals
