    A Samson 'Scotsmen' plate
    Painted with two Scotsmen, one bearing a standard and playing the bagpipes, wearing a plaid over his shoulder, grey coat with red cuffs and a blue bonnet, the other armed with a musket, socket-bayonet, dirk, all-steel pistol with ramshorn butt and wearing an iron-red coat, each with a basket-hilted sword, their tartans in pink, yellow, blue and turquoise and their stockings in iron-red cross-banded in yellow, the everted rim with vignettes containing birds perched on peony branches alternating with landscapes enamelled en grisaille with iron-red and gilding, re-enamelled
