    Of rectangular form, the surface carved with a complex lattice of paired lines linking hexagons, plain borders along each side, a couple of minute spots of retouching of glaze

    Tiles of exactly this design are found in the Mausoleum of an Unknown Princess dating from circa 1380 (Frédérique Beaupertuis-Bressand, L'Or bleu de Samarkand, Paris 1997, pp.118-9). Two further examples are in the Sadberk Hanim Museum, Istanbul (Hulya Bilgi (ed.), Reunited after Centuries, Istanbul, 2005, no.3, pp.26-7) and in the Nazim Collection (Michael Nelson, The Nazim Collection, London, 2007, p.45).
