A VERY LARGE PAIR OF CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL VASES
JIAQING PERIOD (1796-1820)
Of baluster shape with loop handles terminating in dragon heads suspending further dargons in bronze, the vase decorated with a main band depicting birds amongst fruiting pomegranate and blossoming branches issuing from rockwork, below a band of large lotus scroll to the shoulder and a band of phoenix roundels to the neck, all supported by gilt bronze bases with elephant feet, the tops also with gilt bronze flaring mounts with lion-masks between scrollwork designs
