    Shaped oval on leaf and scroll feet, chased with foliage scrolls, with two openwork handles, the cover with detachable handle, engraved with a crest and motto, marked on base, cover and finial

    The crest is that of Townshend, possibly for John Townshend of Trevallyn co. Denbigh (1791-1861).
