    Kamakura period (13th century), signed Sadatsugu (Aya-no-koji Sadatsugu)
    Sugata [configuration]: hon-zukuri, iori-mune deep curve with koshi-zori and ko-kissaki
    Kitae [forging pattern]: very dense ko-itame in ji-nie
    Hamon [tempering pattern]: notare mixed with ko-gunome with nie, ashi, yo and sunagashi
    Boshi [tip]: ko-maru
    Horimono [carving]: futatsu-bi and soe-hi on both sides
    Nakago [tang]: ubu, kiri-jiri with suji-kai file marks and two holes
    Habaki [collar]: two-piece, gold
    Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 27 1/8in. (68.8cm.) In shirasaya [wood storage scabbard]
    With Tokubetsu hozon token (Sword especially worthy of preserving) certificate no. 144180 attributing this sword to Sadatsugu of the Aya no koji group, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 1999.4.2
