    18TH CENTURY
    The wide vessel with rounded sides and everted rim, raised on a high and broad spreading base, the two handles formed by mythical beast heads with raised ears, extended tongues and a pendent flange, cast around the exterior in shallow relief with a band of stylised phoenix motifs above a raised rib around the mid-section, the base with similar phoenix motifs, the interior with an inscription, the bronze with a pleasing gunmetal patina with areas of malachite encrustation
