An Art Deco gem-set and enamel gilt vanity case and pen, by Cartier
The rectangular case with chased Indian design throughout depicting a hunting scene with hunters, exotic birds, lions and hunting dogs among a scrolling floral and foliate ground, with polychrome enamel detailing to the cover and reverse, the circular jadeite jade thumbpiece with an oval pink sapphire collet on a lapis lazuli circlet base, opening to reveal a mirror, one covered powder compartment and three further open compartments, circa 1930, 15.6cm wide; the gilt pen with similar decoration, 8.0cm long, circa 1930; both in maker's cases
Both signed Cartier, case no. 2474, pen no. 5374 with second indistinct number
