    Red Raku Ware, Edo period (18th-19th century) by 9th-generation Raku master Ryonyu (1756-1834), Impressed mark Raku (Enjoyment)
    Hand-modelled, wide and circular on a compressed disc foot, with pebbly and glossy red glaze with brown suffusions
    3¼in. (8.4cm.) high; 4¾in. (12.1cm.) diameter
    Wood boxes, one signed and sealed by the artist, the second box authenticated by Sen Sosa XIII (Sokuchusai; 1901-1979)
