The reflecting surface with a tooled dotted border and an elaborate foliate motif at the junction of the handle, the reverse engraved with two standing youths, to the left a naked figure leaning on a thyrsos held in his right hand, a bone held in his raised left hand, an ivy wreath in his hair, looks back at the other youth, naked save for a chlamys and crested helmet, who stands leaning on spear in his right hand and circular shield resting on the ground in left hand, wavy foliage to either side and foliate device below
