The technique seen on the current vase, using blue and red under a pale blue glaze, appears to be quite rare. However, a similar technique can be seen on a large (57 cm.) Qianlong-period tianqiuping decorated with blue, red and green under a pale blue glaze, in the Nanjing Museum, included in the exhibition Qing Imperial Porcelain of the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong Reigns, 1995, no. 80.
