Original red cloth gilt by Burn, the upper cover with a triple rule in gold and a small central illustration of Alice holding a pig within a triple rule circle, the lower cover the same except with a picture of the Cheshire Cat, pale blue endpapers, gilt edges (ink stain on spine and edge of upper cover affecting spine lettering, smaller ink stain on lower cover, joints and corners lightly rubbed, a little fraying and some very light staining, a few signatures detaching).
