It is enticing to speculate that the present plates were made for a member of the Minton Campbell family as evidenced by the RMC monogram, the Minton Campbell connection with the factory and the fact that the Campbell family is recorded as having a swan crest. In 1958 Colin Minton Campbell succeeded his uncle, Herbert Minton, as director of the Minton factory.
