A PATINATED WROUGHT IRON AND GLASS SHELF BY ERIC SCHMITT, UNIQUE PIECE, 1991
This perfume stand, as well as the two consoles and two other trees sold later (lots 253, 232 and 286) were made for the parisian shop 'Les Parfums de Rosine'. Opened in 1991, it was named after Paul Poiret's perfume brand, inspired at the time by the name of his first daughter. The rose motif is directly inspired by the drawing of Paul Poiret for his very first perfume bottle 'La Rose de Rosine', created in 1912. The present owner used it, without the glass shelves, as a coat-hanger
