    The first a study of a Kappa, the mythical shown breaking out of a clam shell, eyes inlaid; the second a study of an octopus with a long tentacle curled around his head, another tentacle holding a fish, eyes inlaid, signed Ikko; the third a study of a coiled snake, the reptile's sinuous body tightly coiled in irregular loops with its head resting on the top, the eyes inlaid; the fourth a study of coiled snake embracing a straw sandal, inlaid eyes; the fifth a study of a Baku, seated on his hind legs, the eyes inlaid, signed in a rectangular reserve Shoko; the sixth a model of a wasp eating a partially rotted pear, eyes inlaid, details of the skin of the pear in ukiori; the seventh a model of a recumbent kirin, the head slightly raised and turned back to the left, inlaid eyes; the eighth a model of a standing fox posing as a demure lady, in 18th Century style, signed Masatami; the ninth a group of seven Kyogen masks; the tenth a model of a shark, inlaid eyes; the eleventh a model of a fugu-fish, typically modelled in an inflated, bulbous form, the mouth inlaid in ivory, the eyes in amber; the twelfth a model of a lizard sitting on a lotus-pod, inlaid eyes; the thirteenth a model of a crab sitting on a large lotus-leaf, inlaid eyes; the fourteenth a model of an oni as rat- catcher, inlaid eyes, signed Masatami
